Emma Kathryn Peecher

Emma Kathryn Smith Peecher, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 7:25 PM, Sunday, February 7, 2010, at her residence in the presence of her loving family. She was born May 31, 1931 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late John Ernest and Margaret Jane Edinger Smith. On August 31, 1952, she married Lloyd Peecher. Surving are two daughters, Cathy (Joe) Van Dyke, Circleville and Cynthia Peecher, Chillicothe; one son Ron ( Deena) Peecher, Chillicothe; 7 grandchildren, Kara (Mark) Mariotti, Marcus(Tara) Peecher, Randa (John) Freeborn, Andrew (Julie) Newsome, Jennifer (Coty) Skaggs, Michael (Marissa) Van Dyke, and Rebecca (Christopher) Fyffe; 9 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Smith, Chillicothe; a life-long friend, Elsie Buchanan, and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. One brother, William Smith preceded her in death. Mrs. Peecher was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scioto Valley Emmaus, and had been a choir director in many churches, the last being Salem Community Church. She had been a member of Church Women United, various Women's Circles, and in many Civic Musical Organizations. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Reverends Tad Grover and Carol Davis officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Care Systems Hospice program or Cancer Center.
