Emma Ruth Brofft, 74, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Wednesday afternoon, May 7, 2014 in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born November 23, 1939 in Boyd County, Kentucky, the daughter of Vernie and Hannah B. (Terry) May. On May 8, 1961 she married Richard L. Brofft who survives. Emma passed just one day before the 53 year anniversary of her marriage.
Also surviving are her sons, George H. Brofft, Columbus and Ernest D. Brofft, Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Amanda and Miranda Brofft; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brofft was a homemaker and had worked for the Heinzerling Foundation. She was a member of the Lifting Up Jesus Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Obadiah Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday.
