Elsie M. Young, 64, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2008 in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1944 in Williamsburg, KY, the daughter of Charles W. and Geneva (Rains) Brown. On Mar. 22, 1974 she married Joseph R. Young who survives and together they shared 34 years together. Surviving is her mother, Geneva Brown, Williamsburg, KY, a daughter, Kathy Pettiford, Kingston, sons, Keith and wife, Sue Young, Rodney and wife, Kim Young and Mike and wife, Tracey Young, all of Chillicothe and Randy and wife, Pam Young, Ray, grandchildren, Keith, Scott, Jordan, Jeramiah, Nick, Samantha and Cody Young and Samantha Pettiford, sisters, Vena (Berry) Croley, London, KY and Sandra (Bill) Powers, Williamsburg, KY, several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Hannah Shelly, KY and a special friend, Alice Jean Bush, Kingston. Her father, twin infant brother, Charles W. Brown, Jr., infant daughter, Karen Renee Woods and grandparents, Frank and Emma Rains preceded her in death. Mrs. Young was a homemaker. She attended Mt. Tabor Community Church and was a special "Mammaw Elsie to Nick". She enjoyed working cross-word puzzles, reading and camping. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Mt. Tabor Community Church with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mt. Tabor Community Church, 6043 Mt. tabor Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
