Elmer N. Mccarty

Elmer N. McCarty, 89 of Chillicothe, died 12:17 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1918 in Chillicothe, the son of Frank and Laura M. Ley McCarty. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Garnet McCarty, Chillicothe, niece Janet Maisel, Mayfield Heights, OH, nephews Willard McCarty, Powell, OH and Roby Alan McCarty, Chillicothe; six great nieces and nephews and several cousins. His parents, one sister Carlene Day, and two brothers Willard and Clifford McCarty preceded him in death. Mr. McCarty was a retired US Postal Letter Carrier, a graduate of CHS Class of 1936, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Trinity Men's Brotherhood, Chillicothe Lion's Club, NARFE, and Modern Woodmen. He had served his country during WWII in the US Army. Funeral Services will be held Noon, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home with Evangelist James Rankhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service.
