Elaine Mccoy

S. Elaine McCoy, 87, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, Monday Feb. 7, 2011, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born May 11, 1923, in Chillicothe, to the late Joseph A. and Cecelia F. (Poe) Houser. On Feb. 21, 1942, she married Alva McCoy, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 28, 2004. Surviving is a daughter, Shirley McCoy and her fiance Rodney Woods, Chillicothe, granddaughters, Michelle Hougland and her children, Zachary, Kyle, and Brittany, Angella Galloway, and her daughter, Madison Galloway, one sister, Joy Houser, Chillicothe, sister-in-law, Anna Lee Ritter, Lancaster, special friend, Anne Montgomery, and her daughters, Leslie, and Katlyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Robert Houser. Mrs. McCoy was an avid bowler and enjoyed square dancing. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. James Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
