Eileen Hatfield, 66, of Albany, Ohio, passed from this life on Friday morning, April 19, 2013 at the home of her daughter following an extended illness. She was born April 9, 1947 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of Samuel and Odessa (Strawser) Hatfield.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Steven Russell, Albany, Ohio; her son, Richard Carroll, Kingston, Ohio; grandchildren, Stephanie Russell, Samantha Dunn, Matthew Carroll, Aric Russell and Austin Carroll; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Blenn Dunn; a sister, Marlene Hatfield, Frankfort, Ohio; a brother, Samuel Hatfield, Chillicothe, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends, Pam and Les Washburn. Her parents, a sister, Marvene Hatfield and a brother, Anthony “Tony” Hatfield preceded her in death.
Eileen was a manager for McHappy’s Donuts in Athens for more than 20 years retiring in 2007. She was an active member for 25 years of the White Swan Council 5, The Degree of Pocahontas of the Improved Order of the Red Men, a Past Great Pocahontas of the State of Ohio and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Willis Tackett officiating. Private committal services will be held at the discretion of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday where a memorial service by the White Swan Council 5, Degree of Pocahontas of the Improved Order of the Red Men will be held at 12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Appalachian Community Visiting Nursing Hospice, 30 Herrold Ave., Athens, OH 45701.
