Dorothy Pauline Poling

Dorothy Pauline Poling, 92, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 19, 1919 in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of Frank E. and Virginia (Birch) Ervin. On June 21, 1940 she married Paul E. Poling who preceded her in death in 1977. Surviving is her daughter, Janet S. and husband, Thane Chilton, Broaddus, Texas; grandchildren, Julie Chilton and Lisa and husband, Larry Lynch and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kaitlyn Lynch. Her parents, a sister, Grace Poling and a brother, Richard Ervin preceded her in death. Mrs. Poling was retired from Stiffler's Department Store in Jackson where she served as manager for more than 20 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Following her wishes, a graveside memorial service will be held in Fairmont Cemetery, Jackson, Ohio at 2:00 pm, Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 with Reverend Kurt King officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
