Dorothy M. Moreland

Dorothy Marie Moreland, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 7:45 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born February 19, 1930, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Rudolph and Marie Kuntz Griesheimer. August 10, 1968, she married Harold Moreland, who preceded her in death February 19, 1997. Surviving are two nieces Nancy Bogan, Chillicothe and Martha (Gary) Iles, Circleville; 1 grand niece and 4 grand nephews. Her parents, husband, a sister Emma Jean Kuntz and a brother Rudolph Griesheimer preceded her in death. Mrs. Moreland was a school teacher in the Chillicothe City Schools and the Mt. Vernon Schools, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild, Retired Teachers Association, Alumni Association of Chillicothe, OES #419, and the Ross County Senior Citizens. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 am until the hour of service Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to St Paul's Episcopal Church or the Hospice of Adena Health Systems.
