Dorothy M. Mccarty

Dorothy M. McCarty, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Thursday morning, Feb. 10, 2011 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. She was born June 5, 1930 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Reinhold F. and Florence (Reeser) Laessle. On June 27, 1952 she married Ronald H. McCarty who survives. Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Pat Malone and Kathy and Jerry Bruning, sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Vicki McCarty and Greg and Debbie McCarty, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Emily and husband, Dave Pinkerton, Matthew and wife, Chelsea Bruning, Sara Malone and Rachel and husband, Ryan Elliott, great grandchildren, Hallie and Madilyn Pinkerton and Rylee and Reid Elliott, a brother, Glen and wife, Wilma Laessle, Bournville, sisters-in-law, Helen Laessle and Angie Hendershot, both of Chillicothe and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother, Ralph Laessle preceded her in death. Mrs. McCarty was a waitress for several years at local restaurants. She enjoyed doing genealogy, was an excellent cook and enjoyed flower gardening. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jared McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday.
