Dorothy Elizabeth French

Dorothy Elizabeth French passed from this life on Friday, Jan 27, 2012 in the Brown Memorial Home, Circleville. She was born Apr. 19, 1916 in Ross County. In May, 1936 she married Charles W. French who preceded her in death on Mar. 21, 2006. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora B. (Secrest) Manson; her step-father, Shelby Manson; her brother, Herbert Manson and grandsons, Brandon Leist and Rod Leist. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Judith (Jerry) Beasley, Middletown and Virginia (Roger) Leist, Circleville; her sons, Larry (Nina) French, Chillicothe and Douglas (Jenise) French, Lewis Center; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; an uncle; a niece; a nephew and cousins. During her lifetime, Dorothy worked at several jobs, but after having her family, her most important occupation was that of a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an avid bowler, and did so well into her 80's. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Chaplin Jim Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery in Pickaway County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Tuesday.
