Donna (Johnson) Short

Donna M. (Johnson) Short, 74, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was gifted to the world on September 8, 1947 in Ross County, to Helen and Herschel Johnson.

Surviving are her children, who were her absolute world; Mike Johnson (David Rose), Chillicothe, Shelly (Rob) McGuire, Chillicothe, Marie Miller, Circleville, and Larry Short (J.P. Smith), Columbus; 9 grandchildren that she adored; and 3 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; a sister, Janet Elder; brothers, Earl (Dorothy) Johnson and David (Mary) Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Barb Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Park, her mother, Helen Davis, her father, Herschel Johnson, her sister, Kay Pigge, her brothers, Arlie Johnson, Elmer (Betty) Johnson, her brother-in-law, Dave Elder, and her step-father, Parrell “Pope” Davis

Donna retired from Gospel Light Nursing Home as the director of Environmental Services.  Following her retirement, she opened her own restaurant, perfectly named D’s Pizza.  She finished her career at the family-owned Granny’s Pizza.  She loved her customers and the employees, many as family.

Donna will be remembered for her quick wit, her sense of humor, and of course her love of Elvis Presley because she was “all shook up!”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the hour of service on Tuesday.
