Donald S. Skinner, 77, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015 at his home following an extended illness, surrounded by his family.  He was born May 23, 1937 in Chillicothe to Warren and Marie (Wilkins) Skinner.  On July 19, 1962 he married Eloise McGraw who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Sue (Tim) Morgan, Kingston; his son, Sam Skinner, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Timmy Morgan, Julie (Jamie) Skinner and Michael Skinner; his great-grandchildren, Landen, Lexie and James; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Irv Sowers.  His parents, a son, Mike and his twin brother, Ronald W. Skinner preceded him in death.

Mr. Skinner was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War.  He was an ODNR  Park Officer at Hocking Hills State Park for 25 years and was a Deputy Sheriff for Ross County for 12 ½  years.  He was an active member of Crouse Chapel United Methodist Church, a Life member of VFW Post 108, Scioto Lodge #6, F&AM, Chillicothe York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus and the Ross County Shrine Club.

He enjoyed music, motorcycles, singing and playing guitar, fishing and boating and loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Martin Denes officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, 272 Hospital Rd.,  Suite 1, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
