Donald L. Roeder

Donald L. Roeder, Jr., 48, of Gahanna, unexpectedly passed from this life on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born July 24, 1965 in Fairfax, VA, the son of Donald L. Sr., and Leslie C. (Williams) Roeder. On October 17, 1987 he married Denise K. Palmer who survives.
Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Leslie and Gary Gardner, Reynoldsburg; father and step-mother, Donald L. Sr., and Kay Roeder, Pickerington; grandmother, Yvonne Stockdale, Columbus; beloved daughters, Lauren L. Roeder and Abigail G. Roeder, both of Gahanna; a sister, Chris (Dan) Redman, Westerville; step-sisters, Missy (Eric) Hoy, Bexley, Mindy (Casey) Rains, Cincinnati and Ronda (Jim) Slavens, Beavercreek; step-brothers, Matt (Claire) Smith, Pataskala and Matt (Nicole) Gardner, Columbus and a host of cousins and friends. His grandparents, Herman and Mildred Roeder, Sr., his aunt, Delores Hateley and his uncle, Herman Roeder, Jr. preceded him in death.
Donald was a graduate of Columbus State Culinary School. He was a restaurant equipment salesman and enjoyed fishing, Ohio State football, cooking for his friends and spending time with his family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna where the family will receive friend s from 3:00 pm until the hour of service.
Donald was a gentle soul and will be sadly missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to the FAWCETT-PALMER FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe.
