Clarence G. Michael

Clarence G. Michael, Jr. 85, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 9:56 PM, Friday, January 8, 2010 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born July 23, 1924 in Columbus the son of the late Clarence G. and the late Edythe Nicholson Michael. He married Myrtle Scharenberg, who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons David L. (Debra) Michael, Chillicothe and Steven A. (Beverly) Michael, Woodstock, GA; two grandsons Ryan Michael and Chris Michael, Cartersville, GA; one great granddaughter Madison Michael; one sister Julia (Robert) Burton, Circleville; two brothers, David (Ruth) Michael, Stoutsville and Richard (Joan) Michael, Chillicothe; a sister-in-law Martha (Kenny) Rogers, Middletown; a special friend Mary LaGard and her family and friends; and numerous nieces and nephews. One sister Betty Andrews preceded him in death. Mr. Michael was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WW II, he was retired maintenance worker from the Chillicothe City Schools, Shawnee Bowling Lanes, and had owned various service stations in the local area. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was a member of American Legion Post 62, a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League, and an avid OSU and Cincinnati Reds fan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
