Claral D. Siddons

Claral D. "Sid" Siddons, 76, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday afternoon, Aug. 3, 2009 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born June 6, 1933 in Pike County, the son of Willard and Georgia (Gillenwater) Siddons. In 1952 he married Norma J. Cartwright who survives. Also surviving are sons, Garry and his wife, Debbie Siddons, Knoxville, TN and Rod and his wife, Linda Siddons, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen, Greg, Ashley and husband, Chris, Bryan and Sarah, sisters, Judith and her husband, Bob Zastrow, MI and Heidi and her husband, Joe Coffman, Delaware, OH, a brother, Doug and wife, Anna Siddons, Delaware, OH and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sid was a retired employee of DuPont. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served during the Korean War. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, had served as a Deacon and was a long-time member of the Berean Sunday School Class. He enjoyed cars, tools and garages. Sid was a former member of the Antique Car Club and was a member of the Igniters Street Rod Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday.
