Christopher L. Swackhammer

Christopher Lee Swackhammer, 22, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life on Monday, May 25, 2009. He was born June 17, 1986 in Chillicothe, the son of Ralph and Kathy (Doles) Swackhammer Vickers. On May 12, 2005 he married Jamie L. Cantrell, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Wyatt Lee Swackhammer, at home, step-father, Gary Vickers, Sr., Hamden, grandmother, Roma Doles, Londonderry, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Kay Cantrell, Chillicothe, sisters, Cheryl Swackhammer, Londonderry and her fiance, Matthew Hay, Laurelville and Jessica and Janette Vickers, Hamden, brothers, Gary Jr., and Glen Vickers, Hamden, numerous aunts and uncles, several cousins, including Danena Doles, Chillicothe, Jason Doles, Gallipolis and Jennifer Leedom, Grove City, sisters-in-law, Cary, Tricia, Kim and Nicki and brothers-in-law, Shane and Jason and many friends. His parents, grandfather, H. Frank "Pappy" Doles and grandparents, Merrill and Eunice Swackhammer preceded him in death. Chris was a 2004 graduate of Southeastern High School and the PRJVS. He served his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, 412th Civil Affairs Battalion, (SO) A, Whitehall, OH. Chris was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday.
