Charles A. Van Tuyle

Charles A. Van Tuyle, 90, of Chillicothe passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2022.  He was born in Manitou Beach, Michigan on January 3, 1932, the son of Willard and Cornelia (Griswold) Van Tuyle.  Charles graduated with the class of 1949 from Addison High School in Addison, Michigan.  On June 6, 1949 he married Patricia, his high school sweetheart.

Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Naval Reserve from 1954 to 1962.  He was an employee of Rightmeyer Johnson in Toledo, Ohio, retiring in 1996.

Surviving are his children, Julia Van Tuyle, Jennifer Van Tuyle, Jeanna (Jim) Phillips and Jackie Brown; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Bilby) Van Tuyle, his parents, grandchildren Charles Allen, Daniel James Van Tuyle and William “Sonny” Brown.

Charles was an avid fisherman and golf enthusiast.  He loved to travel and enjoyed working with his roses.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff, the aides and the support staff of Promedica of Chillicothe for the loving care they showed Charles during his stay there.
