Cecile E. Dunlope

CECILE E. DUNLOPE Cecile E. Dunlope, 104, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1902 in Ross County, the daughter of Frank and Effie (Flesher) Norris. On Sept. 2, 1944 she married Harry Dunlope who preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Betty Bartlett, Chillicothe, granddaughters, Bobbie (Bernie) Richardson, Sara (Kevin) Holloway, Georgia (Jerry) Hall, Linda (John) Clay and Sandra (James)Woods, all of Chillicothe, Carol (the late John) LaGore, Londonderry, Betty Sue (the late Martin) Peterson, Columbus and Judith (Robert) Suddeth, St. Augustine, FL, a grandson, William (Jody) Smith, New Holland, a great-grandson, Josiah Holloway, Chillicothe and several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her only son, Robert Franklin Bartlett, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Mrs. Dunlope was an excellent seamstress and was well know for making many quilts and afghans. She served as an avid volunteer at the Christian Clothing Center for many years. She made her home at Hopeton Village until 3 months prior to her passing and was an inspiration to all who came to know her. She celebrated her 104th birthday on Dec. 16th at Heartland of Chillicothe, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a beautiful lady and will be greatly loved and missed by those who knew her for her quick wit and kind heart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home fro 10:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday.
