Betty L. Tilton

Betty L. Tilton, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday evening, Dec. 25, 2007 in Westmoreland Place following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 10, 1924 in Berkley County, WV, the daughter of Russell and Katie Irene (Thompson) Carr. On Aug. 30, 1969 she married Robert S. Tilton who preceded her in death Apr. 28, 1990. She is survived by 3 step-children, 11 step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Rollins, Dorothy Barnett, Geraldine Keaton and Louise Streitenberger, several nieces and nephews, including Lisa Tilton and her children, Christin Jones and Michael Keeton and a special friend, Jeff May. Her parents, a step-child, 4 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Tilton was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Monday.
