Betty L. Seitz

Betty L. Seitz, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday evening, Mar. 29, 2011 in Odyssey House of Select Specialty Care, Columbus following a brief illness. She was born July 22, 1930 in Chillicothe, the daughter of John A. and Margaret (Saunders) Byers. Surviving are her sons, Gary L. (Margaret) Seitz and Randall C. Seitz, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Andrew C. (Laetitia) Seitz, Brian C.( Valerie) Seitz, Nikolas A. (Michelle) Seitz and Tiffany G. Seitz, great grandchildren, Baileigh, Owen, Lana, Gwyn, Dylan and Brady Seitz, a brother, Clyde "Chuck" Byers, N. Chelmsford, MA, a sister-in-law, Naomi Templin, Frankfort, an aunt, Mary Hatfield Bartlett, Chillicothe and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ella Byers. Mrs. Seitz was an employee for Big Bear with 20 years of service. She was a licensed realtor and was a licensed insurance agent and owner of the Ohio Insurance Group as well as an employee of Elder-Beerman. An accomplished author, she wrote "Libbie's Suitcase", which tells the story of Libbie Koger, who raised Betty and her sister and who preceded her in death. She was a loyal member of the Wednesday Card Group. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, Apr. 2, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
