Barbara S. Dowler

Barbara S. Dowler, 76, of Chillicothe passed from this life on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born March 22, 1945, in Vinton County, the daughter of Charles S. Malone and Lelia P. Brooks.  On June 29, 1990, she married W. Keith Dowler who survives.

Also surviving are stepdaughters, Kimberly S. Detty, Londonderry and Debra Angle, Massillon, OH; grandchildren, Dusty Turner and Amy Turner; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Emmons, Las Vegas, NV.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Kathleen Turner and Cinda Stevens and a brother, Thomas Emmons.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Chillicothe and the American Legion Post 62 and VFW Post 108.

Private graveside services will be held in Grandview Cemetery at the discretion of the family.  Calling hours will not be observed.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 62 Ladies Auxiliary.
