Annie L. (Rife) Evans

Annie L. Evans, 97, former seventy-two-year resident of Chillicothe, passed away at Friendship Health and Rehab Center in Roanoke, Virginia November 19, 2021.

Annie was born October 21,1924 in Cabell County, West Virginia to the late Homer H. and Eva M. (Walls) Rife. She shared 41 years of marriage with Damon E. Evans before his passing on June 4, 1984.

Annie is survived by her children Gary L. (Marjorie) Evans of Streetsboro, Ohio, Gloria L. (Gary) DeBord of Salem, Virginia, and Carol A. (Ronald) Cox of Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren Jason (Marty) DeBord, Dr. Christy (John Holloway) Cox, Kacy Cox, Caroline (Kirk) Lawler, and Damon (Lauren) Evans, seven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Alta Smith of Glenwood, West Virginia, and sister-in-law Easter Evans of Chillicothe, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Annie was preceded in death by brothers Johnny who died in infancy, Nelson, Carl, and Joe Rife and sisters Cornelia Baumgardner and Hazel Spurlock.

Annie, a homemaker, was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed crafts, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Therese Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of service. The family asks that visitors wear a mask at the visitation and service to assist in the prevention of Covid.
