Anna May Opp, 93, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2009 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born July 18, 1916 in Chillicothe, the daughter of John E. and Roxannabelle (Dickerson) Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Davis. On Apr. 27, 1946 she married Howard L. Opp who preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2003. Surviving are daughters, Sandra L. Etling and Nancy A. and husband, Marlin Johnson, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Christopher L., Jennifer R. and Emilee M. Etling and Steven Gumm, great-grandchildren, Emma L. and Isaac L. Etling, a sister, Catherine Simmons, Chillicothe and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother, Arden L. Collins preceded her in death. Mrs. Opp had been an employee of Mead Paper and will be remembered for her service as secretary at Mt. Logan Junior High School for several years. She was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Chillicothe Evening Lioness Club. The Lioness Club created "The Annie" award in her honor and she was its first recipient. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Lori Lossie officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Thursday. A memorial service by the Chillicothe Evening Lioness Club will be held at 1:45 pm.
