Alfred Owen Coonrod

Alfred Owen Coonrod, 82, of Kingston, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life Friday evening, Aug 24, 2007 at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born Mar. 28, 1925 in Chillicothe, the son of Orrie and Veronica (Corcoran) Coonrod. On Aug. 20, 1949 he married Alice Burnett Annon who went to be with the Lord on Aug. 13, 2007. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Carl Cardinale, Columbus, Pamela and Mike Bayes, Kingston, a daughter, Lisa Hamler, Chillicothe, a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Nancy Coonrod, Chillicothe, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sisters, Rose Miller Bell, Chillicothe, and Marty Simmons, Columbus, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Vicki Coonrod, Charleston, SC, a sister-in-law, Bernice Coonrod, PA and a brother-in-law, Joseph Krafterfer, Chillicothe. His parents, brothers, Carl Coonrod and Johnny Corcoran and sisters, Helen Schlegler, Marcella Krafterfer, Norma Sheets and Gladys Dunbar preceded him in death. Mr. Coonrod was an employee of Mead Paper, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WW II and was a member of Brookside Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, Aug 28, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookside Church.
