Ada Catherine Speakman

Ada Catherine Speakman, 80, of Circleville, passed from this life on Friday evening, May 4, 2012 in Logan Elm Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Chillicothe , the daughter of Ernest and Gladys (McCartney) Cox. On Oct. 13, 1954 she married Herman Speakman who survives.

Also surviving are her daughters, Carla Case and Beth (Tracy) Barnes, all of Circleville; her sons, Jeff (Becky) Speakman, Chillicothe and Todd (Natalie) Speakman, Circleville; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Kevin, Amanda, Aimee, Christopher, Kaitlyn and Courtney; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Smith, Adelphi and brothers, Mike (Shirley) Cox, Amanda, Jack Cox, Hallsville, Jerry (Marsha) Cox, Chillicothe and Steven Cox, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Mark Speakman; son-in-law, Jack Case; grandchildren, Shawn and Brent; sister, Carlene Arledge; and brothers, Ernest Jr., Lawrence, Robert and Roger Cox.

Mrs. Speakman was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church .

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Logan Elm Health Care Center for their wonderful care.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jon Osmundson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery , Circleville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
