Welcome to the memorial page for

Sheila Kay Colvin Stevens

June 12, 1941 ~ December 4, 2016 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Sheila Kay (Colvin) Stevens, 75 of Londonderry slipped away from this life and into the arms of God on Sunday evening, Dec. 4, 2016 in Signature Health Care Center, surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born June 12, 1941 in Uhrichsville, OH to the late Sheldon and Viola Mae (McKinney) Colvin.

Sheila is survived by her companion, Clarence (Papaw Jack) Miller; sons, Craig (Mary) Stevens and Jason Stevens and his companion, Jessica Kinnison, all of Londonderry; granddaughter, Stacey (Eric) Patterson, Londonderry; grandson, Sean Jeffries, Dayton; great-grandsons, Evan and Jacob Patterson, Londonderry; sister, Barb (Ron) Meece, Centerburg; several nieces and nephews, many friends and her fur baby, Ollie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Tamara Jo (Tammy) Stevens Timmons and sisters, Phyllis Gil and Mona McPeak.

Sheila’s 6 year battle with cancer was a bitter journey for her and her family.  This journey taught us what true strength and courage looks like.  Sheila faced each day with the strength of an army and never let her fears show.  She struggled daily to do the little things most take for granted.

Sheila had always been a hardworking and dedicated partner, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  The love she had for her family showed in everything she did.

Sheila loved to read; she loved music and loved to dance.  She had a passion of sewing, cooking and designing homes, including her dream home.  Anyone that knew Sheila knew of her love for animals and nature, always protecting all wild life around her.

One month before her passing, Sheila had a heart to heart talk with Pastor Dave Conley; she requested Dave to officiate her funeral and told him:  “There are 2 stipulations, you tell only the good things you know about me, keep it funny and don’t make my kids cry”.  Even in death, Sheila still had the motherly instinct to protect her babies.

The family would like to thank Signature Health Care staff and residents for your support in our time of sorrow.  We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for the cards, emails, calls and visits.  It is this outpouring of support that will get us through this difficult time, and the days to come.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dave Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Friends Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday.

The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer is honored to serve the family.
