Jeffery L. “Jeff” Park, 60, of Chillicothe unexpectedly passed from this life on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his residence.  He was born August 5, 1956 in Chillicothe, the son of Melvin H. Park, Sr. and Mary K. (Hatfield) Park.

Surviving is his daughter, Stefanie Wright, Chillicothe; grandchildren, D. J. Burgin, Kali Burgin and Payton Burgin; a great-grandchild, Ashaea Schoellkoph; sisters, Debra (Darold) Jones, Herrin, IL and Sherry Vinson, Chillicothe; brothers, Melvin H. (Vicki) Park, Jr. and Wayne L. Park, all of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Patty Park, Chillicothe and nieces and nephews, Brandee Haddox, Justin Park, Mary Alice Eblin, Ann Marie Cozine, Lisa Crosby, Adam Park, Savannah Park, Scott Jones, Ashley Jones, Jason Hensgen and Hayley Orenvoff.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tim Park, a sister-in-law, Melnie Park and a nephew, Eric Hensgen.

Jeff was Corrections Officer at Ross Correctional Institute, retiring in 2013.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era and attended the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.  He enjoyed fishing and had a great sense of humor.  Jeff enjoyed a good laugh, was a kind and helpful man and never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating.   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday.  In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation will follow the services.  In lieu of flowers, Jeff requested that you take a kid fishing.
