Henry P. Walter, Jr., 87, of Chillicothe passed from this life on Saturday morning, August 26, 2017 at his residence following an brief illness.  He was born December 20, 1929 in Chillicothe, the son of Henry P. Walter, Sr. and Lucy (Barnhart) Walter.  On March 25, 1966 he married Sheila S. Morris who survives.

Also surviving is his son, Timothy M. (Angie) Walter, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Joshua (Brandi) Walter, Corbin Walter, Micah Walter, Katie Helmick, Amanda Helmick and Jacob Helmick; a brother, Merle (Charlotte) Walter, Waverly and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Walter was a long-time associate of Litter Industries with 52 years of service, retiring in 2013.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Henry was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed musical instruments, model trains and gardening.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Chris Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
