Glenn R. “Johnny” Barnhart, 82 of Kingston went to his eternal rest on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born August 3, 1936 in Ross County, the son of Albert and Marie (Brady) Barnhart. On June 6, 1964 he married Elizabeth J. “Betty” Adams who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Lawrence (Terri) Barnhart, Chillicothe and John D. Barnhart, Kingston; grandchildren, Amanda (David) Sommers, Kristen Barnhart and Allyssa Barnhart; a great-grandchild, Clara who will be arriving any day; sisters, Pauline Haefeli, Chillicothe and Margaret Seitz, Circleville; and brothers, Ralyn Barnhart, Chillicothe and Frank Barnhart, Montverde, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mr. Barnhart was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a farmer, heavy equipment operator and truck driver, retiring in 2005. A member of Bethel United Methodist Church, he will be remembered as a hard worker. He enjoyed turkey hunting and riding his 4-wheeler with his dog, Crockett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2018 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Michael Rhoads officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday.
