Eleanor Mae Barr, 90, of Chillicothe passed from this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the home of her son, surrounded by her family.  She was born October 23, 1926 in Kingston, Ohio, the daughter of Boyd W. and Pearl (Hildenbrand) White.  On February 15, 1948 she married Glenn A. Barr who preceded her in death, June 6, 1990.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda Barr, Chillicothe; sons, Larry Barr, Cincinnati and Steven (Edna) Barr, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Sherri (Nick) Daniel and Denise (Darrell) Bowe; great-grandchildren, Kaila, Hunter, Brianna, Zoey and Morgan and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Edwin Thompson and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Roxie Barr.

Eleanor was a retired bookkeeper, working for Ebenhack Furniture, the Chillicothe Hospital and Chillicothe City Income Tax Department.  For many years, she attended Salem Church.  She was a 20 year volunteer at the Stop Cancer Shop and was a member of the Canasta Card Club and the Mead Employee Retirement Club.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brent Rolsten officiating.  Private committal services will be held in Londonderry Cemetery at the discretion of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to a charity of choice.
