Roy Allen Southward, 80 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.  He was born April 10, 1937 in Ross County, the son of John and Martha (Poylix) Southward.  On March 30, 1957 he married Grace Irene Wells who preceded him in death in 1978.

Surviving are his daughters, Lillian Fran (Michael) Woodbridge, Annette Irene (Jimmy) McCoy, all of Chillicothe and Selena Brook (Tobin) Kemper, Waverly; grandchildren, Christopher, Karen, Jeremy, Gage, Brayden, Madi, Emma and Alli and  great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Aaron, Chloe, Nathan, Petiah and Sophia.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 2 brothers.

Roy had been an employee of Mead Paper, retiring in 1999.  He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 and the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962.  He was a former member of FOE Aerie 600, Chillicothe.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 12, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Matt Roe officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday.  A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday. May 13, 2017 in Mt. Tabor Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
