Raymond Carl Dennewitz, 79 of Londonderry passed from this life on Saturday evening, September 30, 2017 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born January 18, 1938 in Ross County, the son of Joseph and Mae Lillian (Sheets) Dennewitz.  On April 27, 1957 he married Sally I. Sherrick who preceded him in death on July 26, 2003.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa (Mike) Emswiler, Pickerington, OH; a son, Stacy (Amy) Dennewitz, Londonderry; grandchildren, Brady (Megan) Freeman and Clay Dennewitz; a sister, Helen Donahue, Massieville; brothers, Clarence (Delores) Dennewitz, Massieville, Donald (Norma) Dennewitz, Paulding, OH and Gerald Dennewitz, Chillicothe and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Betty, Mary and Josephine and brothers, Pearl, William, John and Harold.

Mr. Dennewitz was an employee of Mead Paper, retiring in 2000 and was also a self-employed carpenter.  He was an avid gardener, loved music and enjoyed cutting his own firewood.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ron Cottrill officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross County Humane Society, 2380 Lick Run Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
