Phyllis Jean Poe, 84 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Saturday, Mar. 3, 2018 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 9, 1933 in Ross County, the daughter of Clyde and Sylvia (George) Hiles. On Dec. 6, 1952 she married Warren L. “Mike” Poe who preceded her in death June 29, 1993
Surviving is a son, Eric Poe; a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Poe, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Sarah Beth Hines, Stacey Poe and Ethan Poe; great-grandchildren, McKenzie “Sweet Cheeks” Hines and Gage “Grandma’s Hug Bucket Filler” Hines; sisters, Martha (Hobart) Harris and Aleta Nichols, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Donald (Alice) Hiles, WV and Wayne Hiles, Chillicothe; many loving nieces and nephews; a special niece, Cindy Manson and a special friend, Marlene Webster. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Keith and Rodney Poe, a sister, Glenda Walsh and brothers, Glen and Roy Hiles.
Phyllis was a member of First Wesleyan Church. Her love for God and her family knew no bounds.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, Mar. 8, 2018 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Wesleyan Church Women’s Ministry.
