Mabel E. Penisten, 86, of Chillicothe, died 4:30 pm, Friday, July 1, 2016 in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness. 

She was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Alma L. O’Brien Noble.  On June 27, 1959 she married Oscar S. Penisten who preceded her in death December 5, 2010.

Surviving are a stepson Larry (Debbie) Penisten, a brother-in-law, Robert Penisten, a nephew, Tim Burkheimer, a special friend and dedicated care-giver, Shelly Hill, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A sister Iris Nagy, and brother Howard Noble preceded her in death.

Mrs. Penisten retired in 1979 from the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections where she had worked as an accountant. She is a member of the Faith Chapel Bible Church, and a 55 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 419.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday July 6, 2016 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS & PALMER Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until the hour of service on Wednesday. The Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
