Kenneth Edward Magill, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Chillicothe passed from this life on Monday morning, February 1, 2016 in the Bickford Senior Living Center, Lancaster following an extended illness.  He was born December 13, 1927 in Chillicothe, the son of Forrest and Gladys (Duffy) Magill.  On February 28, 1949 he married Betty Ruth Payne who preceded him in death May 10, 2008.

Surviving are his sons, Stephen E. (Elizabeth “Betsy”) Magill, Lancaster, David Lee Magill, Bangkok, Thailand and Randall Wade (Heather) Magill, Grand Forks, ND; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Susie Carter, FL; a sister-in-law, Roberta “Bert” Magill, Chillicothe; and a brother, Forrest “Bill” (Donna) Magill, Chillicothe.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Prince and a brother, Glenn “Red” Magill.

Mr. Magill was retired electrician, with 25 years of service at Mead Paper and 20 years of service at Goodyear Atomic.  He had attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chillicothe and First Baptist Church in Lancaster.  A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during WW II and was a member of American Legion Post 757, VFW Post 108, Scioto Lodge #6, F&AM, Chillicothe York Rite, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Columbus, the Ross County Shrine Club and was an avid golfer.

His family wishes to give special thanks to his caregivers at the Bickford Senior Living Center and to the volunteers and staff of FairHoPe Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Beckett officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43130.
