Johnny Braxton Clay, 66 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born December 17, 1950 in Clinton County, the son of Delbert Braxton and Betty Virginia (Crone) Clay.  On April 6, 1986 he married Linda L. Smith who survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Shelley Osborne, Chillicothe, Heather Lynn Clay, Dayton and Meshelle Jean Dean, Greenfield; sons, Johnny Braxton Clay II, Minford and Toby Lee Clay, Greenfield; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alicia Britain, Hillsboro and Jamie Woods, Washington CH and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Clay was a retired printer.  He was an avid bowler and will be remembered as a longtime vendor at the 23 South Flea Market. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday.
