John D. Mathers, 58, of Chillicothe passed from this life Monday May 30, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born Oct. 20, 1957 in Ross Co. to the late Donald T. and F. Evelyn (Dyke) Mathers.

Surviving is his step-mother; Louise M. (Hollis) Mathers, a sister; Virginia M. Kimbler, and an aunt; Evelyn G. Mathers, all of Chillicothe, and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Thomas A. Mathers, Donald C. Mathers, and Timothy Mathers.

John served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Scioto Valley Amateur Radio Club.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m.  Friday June 3, 2016 in Londonderry Cemetery, with military rites by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard.  Calling hours will not be observed.  The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
