Esther P. Swackhammer, 86 of Londonderry passed from this life on Tuesday morning, December 19, 2017 at her residence following a brief illness.  She was born November 29, 1931 in Vinton County, the daughter of William Grant and Alice (Stoneburner) Walraven.  On September 1, 1951 she married Leland I. Swackhammer who preceded her in death March 25, 1999.

Surviving is her son, Danny (Janice) Swackhammer, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Kelli (Kevin) Brown, Danny (Lisa Hahn) Swackhammer, Jr., Lori (Sandy Cottrill) Swackhammer, Daniel Lee (Denise Hobbs) Swackhammer, Timothy (Stephanie) Woltz and Joni (Kenny) Frisby; great-grandchildren, Danika Brown, Ashley and Brady Woltz, Caden and Jolee Frisby; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Leroy Swackhammer, a special friend, Richard Cochenour, a sister, Sylvia Carl and brothers, Jim and Phil Walraven.

Mrs. Swackhammer was a homemaker.  She enjoyed playing canasta and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday.
